This is one of those projects that I had to crank out in two days. This is a new department for Humpty Dumpty Magazine. It’s a long story, but it was a last-minute idea from the editors just before the magazines went to print. I guess this is one of those times when it pays to have an illustrator on staff!
I’ve posted a couple of the rough sketches as well as the final art.
I am happy to announce that I have recently been hired as Assistant Art Director for U.S. Kids magazines. I’ve been working in this position for just over a month (which is responsible for my recent lack of blog posts), but I’m loving the job so far!
I’m working with a great team of creative people, both writers and artists—people who aren’t afraid to learn from one another, collaborate, and share ideas. Not only that, but I’ve been allowed a flexible schedule, and will be able to work from home three days a week. I’ve already been heavily involved in the design work and have dabbled in the writing and illustration side as well. What a find!
